I'm Megan Burgwald
My name is Megan Burgwald and I an Atlanta native. In fact, I live not far from the house that I grew up in. Which, I know, is unheard of. But, for my husband and I, family is everything, and so it was important for us to stay local (he grew up nearby also). Together, we have a little girl who consumes all my free time. And I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm a former soccer player and lifelong athlete (and so is he), so we try to spend as much time outside, being active as we can.
How did I get into the crazy world of design? My mom once asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told her (with crayons in hand) that I wanted to color for a living. I laughingly went on my way thinking nothing of the conversation until high school, where I got into a graphics class. Although not the same as coloring (which I still love to do), i quickly discovered a new passion and my future career path.
As a designer, I pride myself on thinking above the look. My goal is more than that. It's to think things through. Graphic design isn't just about making things pretty. It's about communicating a message. In my work, I like to get into the details, understand the content and figure out the best way to present that message in a way that is both visually appealing and easily understood.
